For the second year OLA and its staff have helped support the Volunteers of America in Project Backpack. Operation Backpack promotes education for children in less fortunate circumstances by providing them with all of their school supplies for the upcoming academic year. This year OLA employees and friends donated 30 backpacks and OLA donated matching funds. The OLA effort was led by Jill Walsh and Gia Grimaldi who deserve many thannks for their efforts.
The program eases stress in children and lets them focus on school work rather then the difficult obstacles they are faced with on a daily basis. School supplies are a necessity for students and without these key instruments education is pushed to the backburner. Operation backpack allows the opportunity for so many youngsters to have a brighter future and even if for a day, puts a smile on their faces.
