nArchitects founders Eric Bunge and Mimi Hoang were recently featured in The New York Times for their innovative Rhinebeck, N.Y. home, designed and built during the pandemic. Utilizing cross-laminated timber, the project pushed them to find creative solutions for concealing mechanical systems, as the construction method didn’t allow for conventional framing. The OLA team provided the engineering expertise necessary to ensure the systems were both functional and energy-efficient, contributing to the home’s inventive and sustainable design.
“We call them vines,” Bunge said, referring to the artful, surface-mounted electrical conduit painted a creamy yellow, inspired by modernist architect Sigurd Lewerentz. This approach, along with other unconventional design elements, helped bring their vision of a modern, adaptable home to life. Read the full feature here.
